HELLO!!!

I had the MOST AMAZING weekend!!! =D I went to Aneala's 25th Anniversary weekend. I had been madly sewing up my fancy sleeves for my coat and also some other sleeves to go underneath. I was suppose to get LOADS of pictures with me in my fancy garb, but it rained a lot and I didn't get any in my coat =(.

I did however make a last minute decision to enter my Sleeve in the A&S competition. I didn't win, apparently I came second though. I was a little confused by the comments, one said I should have treated myself to silk, but it is silk...?! I did get a pic of me in my sleeve though...

And a last minute decision had me decide to make an apron. you can see it in this picture as well. I had this scrap of linen left over and folded it in half, made a band and sewed it up. Its really small and cute. Ideally I want to add a pocket to the centre of it.

I added this picture just coz I like it =p
ALSO ALSO!! I GOTS  MY AOA SCROLL!!!!!!! =D =D look how pretty it is!!!! =D

So the weekend has got me all inspired to be more active within the SCA in terms of having more "period looking" things. Mainly, I want a tent! I really liked the idea of having a distinctively my own and not a copy of what someone else has. there are a few round tents and Baron Lachlahn has a square tent. I liked the look of an oval tent. Now this was the place with the round tent shape I liked, but it was out of period and looks a little slanty. http://tentsmiths.com/period-tents-officers-marquee.html

So I goggled SCA and tents and came across this website: ttp://home.adelphi.edu/sbloch/sca/tents/secondkr.html

It has EXACTLY the type of tent I would love, only in different colours

As far as I can tell it just has the 3 main poles, two in the middle and a joining beam up the top. The roof is held out by internal guy ropes and held in place with bits of fabric to prevent them slipping. The wall attaches onto the on the inside, I would use wooden toggles or something rather than buttons, personally. I would love this tent in a mixture of reds and blues! It would be AMAZING! I could make it myself, but I don't have  that sort of time or skill. I called up a local canvas place today and it was excessively expensive to get that sewn up. I may just have to make it myself...
Bellow are some diagrams.
