Busy Busy!
So plans are progressing rather well. I have almost completed a few new outfits now.
I think I have already mentioned I have my blue petticoat finished. What I learnt from that process was all about boning. I always hate putting boning in my garb because it makes it uncomfortable to wear, but I like the flattened curve it creates for my boobs, so its always been a price to pay. What I did this time was only put boning in between the lining (of two layers of canvas and one layer of horse hair) in the front of the bodice and it didn't go around the sides or past the shoulder straps. It worked rather well for supporting purposes and still seems rather comfy, although I haven't worn it for a long period of time. I am quite happy with it. I still don't have any decent pics of it yet. (I only took a very booby self, and I don't think it should be here =p)
Next, I started and finished the blue "casual" Tudor I wanted to make this exactly the same shape as the red Tudor, but I was experimenting with a busk. I bought some pine and some back up jarrah, just in case and with help I get the edges all sanded off and it was a thin, nice looking busk. I wanted to get rid of the crease lines in my red and gold Tudor, and the blue Tudor I was making, where I naturally curve. Turns out I have too much of a curve between my silly boob and sillier stomach and putting a busk in the bodice made me look like a triangle and it didn't look very nice, as you can see. I ditched the busk and just added some more cable tie's as boning down the front. which seemed to do the trick really nicely for my blue tudor.

Here is the nice Curve shape I ended up with, Without that crease.

The only thing I have left for this dress is making some internal ties on the inside edges of the skirt to tie to the underskirt, so it keeps its triangle shape. As for sleeves, I think I will use my yellow silk clan brechin sleeves! Turns out its not so casual after all =)
Will chat about my man-garb creation next time. Off to a lindy-hop class!!

I'm so glad you call it Lindy and not "swing dance". <3
